15s Head Down Under!

This past week Mason Hinds has been out in Australia in a new long term collaboration with Sydney SWAT. The guys at SWAT reached out at the end of last season about sending out some of our guys to assist with their season at Super7s paintball, and generally helping out with some game plans and horsepower moving forward.

This sort of collaboration is a big deal for us as a team. It shows that as a team, we're doing things right, and that people are taking notice. We wanted to really jump in feet first and make the entire operation a success from the outset. Paintball is our passion, and it was evident from our first chat that we were a good fit in terms of personality and dedication to the sport we love.

We decided on Mason to send out as he has a great knowledge of the game, and is an adaptable player with leadership qualities. We got the flights booked and Mason set off a little over a week ago on his 21 hour flight to Sydney.

After some training on the Thursday and Friday and getting to know the field layout, the lads of SWAT+Mason took to the field on the Saturday to compete in the first leg of the Super7s event. They didn't drop a game throughout all of their prelims and were looking strong. The guys at Super7s do a great livestream with multiple camera angles and commentary, and was a great watch.

Mason also got a tour of some local sites and the a big shout out to the families behind the SWAT guys were equally as amazing.

Sunday afternoon saw the finals, with a quick dispatch in the semis to meet head on in the finals against their nemesis; ESKIMO BROS. A 7 minute point was the opening nail biter, climaxing with Mason unfortunately getting a red flag for picking up paint from the floor. This resulted in a bit of a hill to climb in a short space of time on a layout which was conducive to crossed back corners, meant that they couldn't quite pull it back. Hats off to the guys at ESKIMO, but we'll be back!

It's been an amazing time for Mason, and the start of the Lucky's next chapter. We'd like to thank the whole organisation behind SWAT and the players and crew for providing Mason with memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Let's get that gold now boys! See you soon!

From Mason himself: "It's been an amazing trip and I just want to thank everyone involved. I can't wait to head back out later in the year and bring back that gold with my new friends"

Thanks to KORR photography for the awesome shots!!
